This series covers ageing of many body systems and includes a wealth of knowledge in very readable accounts. The series starts with two general papers "Malnutrition and ageing" (see page 2) and "Ageing and the brain" (February issue) and is followed by four papers on ageing of the senses that have been edited by Anne Freeman. These include ageing of the auditory system, the olfactory system, the sense of touch, and ageing in the eye.

The next section covers ageing of the cardiovascular system with ageing of the heart, the vascular system, and ageing and blood pressure. The final section covers such topics as ageing of the gastrointestinal system.

The series is intended to be of special interest to all those working in the care of the elderly in the clinical field, but, let us face the facts, we will all be interested in ageing, eventually!
